Have You Benefitted from the Fan Cave Bump?

Friends of the Fan Cave are quickly becoming a select group of people who just seem to do better in whatever they do. Whether it's Joba Chamberlain pitching a three-up-three-down inning after visiting or DJ Clue getting his first platinum album after spinning for a party at the Cave, people who visit us seem to leave with a rabbit’s foot in their pockets (at least, for a little while). If you need more proof of the Power of the Cave, Austin Jackson hit his first homer of the year the day after he dropped by and DJ Pauly D got his own show the same week he visited.

Last night was more of the same. Adam Jones, who stopped by a few days ago, made the top defensive play of the night, laying out for a shallow fly to center from Jorge Posada, which would have otherwise scored two runs. Huston Street, whose closing is one of the funniest bits we've done so far, recorded his sixth save of the season last night with a perfect ninth inning.

If Jeremy Guthrie goes out and throws a no-hitter this weekend, I'm pretty sure we'll have guys lining up to get into the Fan Cave. As an experiment, I would like to open our doors to any slumping players and teams (on the condition they are not playing against the Orioles).
