Top of the World, Ma!

The baseball season is just off and running but there have been surprises already. The mighty Red Sox tripped out of the starting blocks and haven't yet found their stride with only three wins. I knew Troy Tulowitzki was good, but this young man is playing on another planet right now. The Rockies are off to a great start and Tulo has a lot to do with it.

Now, if you had asked me who I thought would be leading the AL Central Division to start the 2011 campaign I would have immediately said Detroit or Minnesota…maybe even Ozzie's South Sider club…and I would have been wrong.

There are currently 2 teams tied at the top of the AL's "Norris" Division: the Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City Royals…yes, the Royals and the Indians.

The Tribe and the Boys in Baby Blue are playing great baseball to start the season. I know that much can happen between now and October, but these two teams look like they have staying power. Both clubs are firing on all cylinders. They’re hitting and pitching and I never thought I'd see Bruce Chen throwing the way he is right now.

The great thing about this game is it's not played on paper. If it was, the Phils and Sox could just play a seven-game series and we could all get our Christmas shopping done early. In baseball anything can and usually does happen. I don't have a crystal ball and can't predict the future but if "Frenchy and The Melkman" or "The Celtic Superhero of Cleveland, Jack Hannahan" have anything to say about it, the Royals and Indians may have their say about who plays postseason baseball this season.
