Davis day to day with bruised shoulder

June 30th, 2016

OAKLAND -- Khris Davis was scratched from the A's lineup against the Giants on Wednesday night with a bruised left shoulder and is considered day to day.
"We originally had him in the lineup today but when he went in the cage to swing, he didn't feel great so we took him out," A's manager Bob Melvin said after his club's 7-1 victory. "Knock wood he'll be in there tomorrow."
The injury occurred when Davis collided with the left-field wall Tuesday night against the Giants attempting to catch a first-inning double by Brandon Belt. Davis remained in the game, going 2-for-4 with three runs scored, including a solo homer in the fourth, but he was seen sporting a bulky wrap around his left shoulder in the clubhouse prior to Wednesday's game.
Oakland inserted Billy Burns into the lineup in center and shifted Coco Crisp over to Davis' spot in left. Together, they combined for three hits and three RBIs.
Davis is hitting .253 with a team-high 19 homers and 53 RBIs in 71 games.
