A's sign 2 undrafted FAs: Iowa RHP, Harvard OF

OAKLAND -- ­­­­The Oakland A’s signed two non-drafted free agents on Monday: right-handed pitcher Grant Judkins from the University of Iowa and outfielder Jake Suddleson from Harvard. Oakland has now signed six non-drafted free agents in addition to all five of its selections from the Draft.

Judkins went 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA, 24 strikeouts and five walks in 21 innings over four starts with Iowa. He logged an 8-7 record and a 2.90 ERA in 111 games, including 25 starts, during four seasons with the Hawkeyes. The 22-year-old right-hander was a three-time Academic All-Big 10 selection. 

Suddleson hit .389 in five games in the shortened 2020 season after earning Ivy League Player of the Year honors in 2019. He hit .372 with 11 home runs and a school-record 53 RBIs in 43 games as a junior and finished his four-year collegiate career with a .309 average, 20 home runs, 90 RBIs, a .538 slugging percentage and .917 OPS in 112 games.
