A Tribute to Earl Weaver

Getting to throw out the first pitch of a Baseball game is a huge honor. Getting to throw out the first pitch of your team's Opening Day game, that is the highest honor. Presidents, celebrities and decorated veterans have all done it. It’s something that every Baseball fan dreams of.

The Orioles, however, took a different route. They had nobody throw out the first pitch of their 2013 Home Opener. Instead, they opted to place a Baseball on the mound in honor of their late manager and Hall of Famer, Earl Weaver. This is an incredibly classy move by the Orioles and one that shows the proper respect to a man who displayed nothing but class. The Orioles also showed a video tribute to Weaver and everyone stood at attention.

A class way to honor a legend.
