Judge launches his first Triple-A homer

Yankees No. 2 prospect goes 1-for-3 in 4th game for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

It was only a matter of time before Aaron Judge flashed his power for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and he ushered in the inevitable Thursday night with a two-run blast.

While the Yankees' No. 2 prospect (No. 56 overall) could not keep the RailRiders from a 15-2 blowout loss to Louisville, he provided the organization with confirmation that he was indeed ready to move up. Judge was just 1-for-10 at the Triple-A level entering Thursday's game and had yet to record an extra-base hit. But his 1-for-3 day took care of both his first extra-base hit and home run.

Reds No. 9 prospect Yorman Rodriguez had a fantastic day at the dish for the Bats. The outfielder was 3-for-4 with a double, home run and five RBIs. He also scored two runs and the dinger was his eighth of the year.

Judge, a first-round Draft pick in 2013, excelled at Double-A Trenton this season, clobbering 12 home runs while adding 16 doubles and 44 RBIs in 63 games. Judge and Rodriguez were selected on Thursday as outfielders for the U.S. and World teams, respectively, for the 2015 Futures Game.
