Rain subsides in KC, Game 6 resumes

Rainy weather in the Kansas City area delayed Friday's Game 6 of the American League Championship Series for 45 minutes in the middle of the eighth inning.

Rain fell heavily for nearly half an hour before the grounds crew returned to remove the tarp and prepare the field for play. It resumed on FOX Sports 1 and Sportsnet with the Royals coming to bat in the eighth in a 3-3 game, looking to take the lead and clinch the AL pennant. The Blue Jays are trying to force a Game 7.

The delay came just moments after Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista knotted the game on a two-run homer off Royals reliever Ryan Madson. Closer Wade Davis took over with one on and one out and retired Chris Colabello on a popout before striking out Troy Tulowitzki.

Per Major League rules, no postseason game can be shortened due to weather, so a full-length game at Kauffman Stadium is assured.
