Alex Anthopoulos is among the candidates to be the Twins' president of baseball operations, MLB.com's Jon Morosi has learned.
The Twins, who dismissed longtime general manager Terry Ryan in July, are expected to shift to a two-tier system with a president of baseball operations and a general manager. The club has not commented on Morosi's report.

Anthopoulos was the vice president of baseball operations and general manager for Toronto from 2010-15, last season shaping the first Blue Jays club to reach the playoffs since 1993.
Anthopoulos turned down a five-year contract extension following the season after the hiring of president/chief executive officer Mark Shapiro, and he then joined the Dodgers' front office in January.
Anthopoulos, 39, broke into baseball in 2000 with the Expos, eventually working his way into the scouting department. He joined the Blue Jays in 2003 as their scoring director.
