Alex Burnett claimed off waivers
Ft. Myers, FL – The Minnesota Twins announced today that the Toronto Blue Jays have claimed right-handed pitcher Alex Burnett off outright waivers. Burnett appeared in seven games with the Twins this spring posting a 7.56 ERA (8.1 IP, 7 ER) with six walks and one strikeout.
Burnett, who was originally drafted by the Twins in the 12th round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, appeared in 174 career games with the Twins, posting an 8-11 record with a 4.61 ERA (170.0 IP, 87 ER).
The Twins now have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
