Cobb to make at least 1 more tuneup in Florida

April 2nd, 2018

HOUSTON -- Alex Cobb is expected to pitch again Wednesday in extended spring workouts in Sarasota, Fla., as the right-hander gets closer to joining the Orioles' rotation.
"Things went well with Alex's work day," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said on Monday. "He'll pitch [Wednesday]. And a decision will be made after his work day following that, whether he will pitch for us or wait another turn.
"I talked to Alex today, he felt really good. That was good to hear."
Showalter is hopeful Cobb will go five innings Wednesday.
Cobb, 30, was a free-agent signee with Baltimore, signing a four-year contract in late spring. Cobb had spent his career with the Rays.
