RHPs Rodriguez, Baumann make strong starts

Alex Dickerson and Ryan Schimpf each had three hits, and Bryan Rodriguez and Buddy Baumann combined on a three-hit shutout Saturday night as Triple-A El Paso defeated Sacramento, 3-0, in West Texas.
Meanwhile, right-hander Aaron Northcraft, who moved from the El Paso bullpen to the rotation at Double-A San Antonio, allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts over six innings in his Missions debut.
Left fielder Dickerson was 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, and he moved back above .400 to .406.
Third baseman Schimpf (.354) was 3-for-4 with his 14th homer for 36-25 El Paso. First baseman Jason Hagerty (.318) was 2-for-4.
Rodriguez (2-0, 0.00 earned run average) allowed three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in his return to El Paso. The left-handed Baumann, who is on a rehab assignment with the Chihuahuas, struck out four in two perfect innings.
Left-handed pitcher Logan Allen was placed on Class A Fort Wayne's seven-day disabled list, and left-handed pitcher Taylor Cox was transferred from Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore to Fort Wayne.
Center fielder Michael Gettys (.316) was 3-for-6 with a triple, his third homer, and three RBIs for Fort Wayne as the TinCaps (34-28) dropped a 6-5, 12-inning decision at Dayton. Catcher Austin Allen (.320) was 3-for-6 with a double and a run scored. First baseman Ty France (.244) was 2-for-4 with his fourth homer and two RBIs. Left-handed started Thomas Dorminy (3.18 ERA) allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Right-hander Louis Distacio (3.60) struck out four in 3 2/3 perfect innings. Right-hander Nick Monroe (2-2, 4.08) gave up two runs on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings to suffer the loss.

DH Franmil Reyes (.234) was 1-for-3 with his fourth homer. RH Luis Tejada (.233) was 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored. C Jose Ruiz (.196) was 2-for-4. RHP Enyel De Los Santos allowed six runs on five hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings in his first start for the Storm. LHP Brandon Alger (0.00) walked one with a strikeout in 1 1/3 otherwise perfect innings. LHP Trevor Seidenberger (6.53) allowed a run on two hits and a walk with a strikeout in two innings.
