Cashner exits with right hamstring cramp

Green: SD righty lifted as precaution, won't be limited

SAN DIEGO -- Padres right-hander Andrew Cashner was lifted from Sunday's 4-3 loss against the Mets for precuationary reasons with a slight right hamstring cramp.
Cashner was in his sixth inning of work when manager Andy Green and others approached the mound after he went 2-2 to leadoff hitter Eric Campbell. Before leaving, Cashner surrendered three runs and nine hits, with a walk and a strikeout.
Brad Hand relieved Cashner, who ended the previous inning by getting thrown out at the plate when trying to score from first on Jon Jay's double. Cashner attempted a headfirst slide and was tagged out by Kevin Plawecki.
Green said both of Cashner's hamstrings locked up after that, which forced him from the game the following inning. But Green said the big righty is fine.
"No limitations going forward, no issues at all,'' Green said. "It just wasn't smart for him to keep going after that run.''
