Angels, AM 830 & ESPN Zone to Host Fourth Annual Cooking Challenge August 7th

Current players to be featured along with AM830 radio personalities

The Angels Baseball Foundation and Angels Radio AM830 have teamed up again to host the Fourth Annual Angels Baseball Foundation Cooking Challenge set to take place on Wednesday, August 7th at 10 a.m. at the ESPN ZONE in Downtown Disney. Hosted by AM830 radio personalities Travis Rodgers and Roger Lodge, the "cook-off" event will challenge the participants to "Bar-B-Que" professional style for charity.

Competing in the Cooking Challenge will be current Angel players Ernesto Frieri, Hank Conger, Michael Kohn, Garrett Richards, Howie Kendrick and defending 2012 Cooking Challenge champion Kevin Jepsen. Angels Baseball Chairman, Dennis Kuhl, former Angels pitcher, Clyde Wright, Downtown Disney Vice President, Daniel DeCourt and Honda Center Executive Chef Joseph "Jo-Jo" Doyle will serve as the judges for the Cooking Challenge.

Each Angel player will be partnered with professional chefs from top restaurants around Orange County, including The Catch & The Ranch in Anaheim, The Winery in Tustin, Mastro's Ocean Club in Newport Beach and Selanne Steak Tavern in Laguna Beach.

Tickets to the charity event are on sale now at the Angel Stadium front office. Each ticket to the Cooking Challenge costs $125 and includes:

  • One seat at the Cooking Challenge
  • Two Angel "Club Level Loge" tickets to the Angels/Rangers game on Wednesday, August 7th at 7:05 p.m.
  • One $25 ESPN Zone gift card for lunch or dinner
  • One ESPN Zone game card
  • One Autographed Baseball signed by each Angel player participating in the Cooking Challenge

All proceeds from the Fourth Annual Cooking Challenge will benefit the Angels Baseball Foundation.
