Trout named Angels' MVP for 4th straight year
Street honored with Adenhart Award for team's top pitcher
ANAHEIM -- The Angels handed out two of their team awards before Monday's series opener against the A's, with Mike Trout named the team MVP and Huston Street receiving the Nick Adenhart Award for pitcher of the year.
Trout and Street were presented with their awards, which were voted on by their teammates, in a pregame ceremony at Angel Stadium. Trout was named Angels team MVP for the fourth consecutive season.
The center fielder has put together another All-Star campaign in 2015, and is again a frontrunner for the American League MVP, neck-and-neck with the Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson. Trout entered Monday's game hitting .297 with a career-high 40 home runs, and he leads the AL with a .983 OPS.
Street, although he is sidelined with a groin strain, has anchored the bullpen all season, and was the AL saves leader with 40 entering Monday. The Angels closer also recorded his milestone 300th career save in July.
