Angels Host Astros, Rangers & Indians in Nine-Game Homestand

During their 11th homestand of the season, the Angels will take on three A.L. opponents.

During their 11th homestand of the season, the Angels will take on three A.L. opponents. Beginning Tuesday at 7:07 p.m., the Angels will square off against the division leading Houston Astros in a three-game series (Tuesday, September 12 - Thursday, September 14). The Club will then face the Texas Rangers in a three-game series over the weekend (Friday, September 15 - Sunday, September 17). Following an off-day on Monday, the Angels will conclude their homestand with the Cleveland Indians (Tuesday, September 19 - Thursday, September 21). Below is a look at the notable events and ceremonies taking place at Angel Stadium during the homestand:
MLB ROBERTO CLEMENTE AWARD CEREMONY
On Thursday, September 14, the Club will honor former Angel, Cameron Maybin, as its nominee for the MLB Roberto Clemente Award. Each year, one player from each team who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions on and off the field, is chosen by the team, committee and fans. The final winner is announced during the World Series. Maybin regularly supported the Angels Baseball Foundation and Sunburst Youth Academy during his time with the team. He also founded the Maybin Mission, a program that focuses on enriching the lives of inner city youth. Maybin will be honored in a pre-game ceremony with his nomination.
STAR WARS NIGHT
Friday, September 15 is Star Wars Night at The Big A. Star Wars characters will be walking around the stadium from 5pm through the 5th inning and taking pictures in the Music Garden. The characters will also partake in a pre-game ceremony.
COLLEGE NIGHT
On Friday, September 15, the Angels will host another college night. Cal State Fullerton will occupy the area by Gate 5 and distribute their Cal State Fullerton themed Angels caps. Students of the college will have the chance to visit booths and receive prizes and giveaways from the school and its associated organizations.
POST-GAME FIREWORKS AND CONCERT
Following the game on Saturday, September 16, there will be Star Wars-themed Saturday Night Fireworks. Immediately following the fireworks, Nick Jonas will be performing. Tickets for the concert and on-field passes are available for purchase.
WINE NIGHT
It is Wine Night at Angel Stadium on Saturday, September 16. There will be 14 different wineries in the Music Garden ready to distribute to fans. Vouchers are available for purchase for $10 for either a full glass of wine, or a tasting of three different wines.
DUCKS NIGHT
Tuesday, September 19 is Ducks Night at Angels Stadium. There will be Ducks-themed celebrations at the Centerfield Patio and Home Plate Pad, as well as a Ducks beanie hat giveaway.
PROMOTIONS
Former Angel pitcher, Shigetoshi Hasewaga, will be at the Stadium for a meet and greet in front of the second-floor team store on Tuesday, September 12.
St. Joseph Hoag Health will be present on September 13 for a pregame ceremony honoring its personnel. Gate 1 will be opening at 4pm to accommodate those from St. Joseph participating in the pre-game ceremony.
On Sunday, September 17, children of season seat holders will have the opportunity to take the field with the team prior to game start.
There will also be a Day of Champions ceremony on Sunday, celebrating So Cal Youth Baseball.
AM830 will be live on Tuesday, September 19, at the Home Plate Pad in front of the team store.
The Angels will hold a pregame ceremony for those who represent the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Wednesday, August 30.
GIVEAWAYS (while supplies last)
Upon entrance to the stadium on Friday, September 15, fans will receive a Rebel Pilot Rebel Monkey during Star Wars Night.
On Tuesday, September 19, fans will receive a Ducks Night Beanie in celebration of Ducks Night at Angel Stadium.
