Scioscia: Angels motivated to reach goal

April 2nd, 2016

TEMPE, Ariz. -- As Spring Training has played out, Angels manager Mike Scioscia has begun to see some encouraging signs from his offense.
"We're seeing some situational guys come into focus and doing a great job," Scioscia said. "We're getting on base, and the guys in the middle are swinging the bat well."
With Opening Day approaching, Scioscia's club faces questions about how productive its offense can be, how much first base Albert Pujols can play and how it can overcome what appears to be a more competitive American League West.
Scioscia hit on those topics in a recent interview and also raved about the energy level this spring.
"I have to tell you," Scioscia said, "the guys who came in camp were as motivated as they've ever been to get us to our goal."
