Trout leads AL outfielders in All-Star votes

May 31st, 2016

ANAHEIM -- Angels center fielder Mike Trout ranked third among vote-getters in the first American League All-Star ballot update, which was released on Tuesday.
"It's always cool just to be a part of it, the whole experience and take it in," Trout said. "Obviously it's not set in stone right now, but being up there is a good feeling, especially with a fan vote."
Trout, who has 934,137 votes, ranked behind only Royals catcher Salvador Perez (1,094,942) and Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz (963,076) in voting.
