ANAHEIM -- Michael Trout was out of the Angels' starting lineup for a second consecutive game on Tuesday night due to neck stiffness, but the 26-year-old center fielder said he's feeling better and is hoping to return for Wednesday's series finale against the A's.
"It feels all right," Trout said before the Angels' 8-2 win over the A's. "I'm looking to play tomorrow. Should be good. Just taking it one more day, precautionary. I definitely feel better than yesterday."

Trout injured his neck after crashing into the padded wall in center field while attempting to make a catch against the Astros on Sunday afternoon. Cameron Maybin started in center in Trout's place on Tuesday, with Ben Revere playing left.

Norris to DL
The Angels placed right-hander Bud Norris on the 10-day disabled list with right knee inflammation, retroactive to Sunday. Norris missed 11 games earlier this season because of the same malady.
"He's just battled it here and there," manager Mike Scioscia said. "We'll evaluate him again. A little time away we feel is going to get him to a higher level."
In a corresponding roster move, the Angels selected the contract of outfielder Eric Young from Triple-A Salt Lake. Right-hander Huston Street (rotator cuff strain) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list to clear a spot on the club's 40-man roster.
Worth noting
• Right-hander Andrew Bailey departed for Arizona on Tuesday to continue his rehab from a shoulder strain, which has ended his season. Shoulder trouble limited Bailey to just four innings for the Angels this season, but the 33-year-old veteran said he still hopes to pitch again in 2018.
"I just think I wouldn't do myself justice if I didn't give it a chance to see where I am next year," said Bailey, who will be a free agent this winter. "There's no harm in trying."
• Right-hander JC Ramirez received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his strained elbow last week and said he is due for another checkup on Thursday. He remains hopeful that he'll be able to pitch again this season.
• The Angels have not taken batting practice on the field this week due to the heat. Temperatures in Anaheim climbed into the high 90s on Tuesday and are forecasted to remain in that range on Wednesday.
"The heat definitely is the major factor for why we're not doing a lot of our prep work on the field," Scioscia said. "It's one less activity they need where there's a possibility of getting dehydrated when it's excessive."
