Angels send Valdez, De Los Santos to Triple-A

Angels right-handers Jose Valdez and cleared waivers and were sent outright to Triple-A Salt Lake City on Wednesday, the club announced.
Additionally, righty was claimed off waivers by the Brewers. All three players were designated for assignment by the Angels on Friday, clearing the way for additions to the 40-man roster.

Valdez made 25 relief appearances for the Angels last season, compiling a 4.24 ERA through 23 1/3 innings. The 26-year-old Valdez initially signed with Detroit as a free agent out of the Dominican Republic in 2009, and his contract was purchased by the Angels in June.
De Los Santos, 24, has pitched just 7 1/3 innings in the Majors, allowing eight runs in that span. He split the 2016 season between the Nationals and Reds organizations -- posting a 2.81 ERA in 57 2/3 innings in the Minors.
