Angels reportedly have deal with Fister

May 18th, 2017

NEW YORK -- The Angels have agreed to a Major League contract with veteran right-hander Doug Fister, according to a report from Chris Cotillo of SB Nation. The club has not confirmed the signing.
The deal, which is pending a physical, should help bolster an Angels rotation that is currently without right-hander and left-hander .
Fister, 33, posted a 4.64 ERA over 180 1/3 innings for the Astros in 2016. Fister -- who has also pitched for the Mariners, the Tigers and the Nationals -- has a 3.60 career ERA over eight Major League seasons.
General manager Billy Eppler did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment on the transaction.
