PHOENIX -- When Jake Lamb is asked which of his teammates thought up the best nickname for Players Weekend, he takes a glance around the clubhouse.
"I like Pollo, I like Goldy," Lamb said, referring to A.J. Pollock and Paul Goldschmidt. "I mean, the classic ones."

Then his eyes lock on to Archie Bradley's locker across the room.
"Then you have Hollywood," Lamb said.
For a player who has earned Twitter shoutouts from NBA stars for his emphatic reactions during big moments, and whose massive beard prompted the D-backs' team shop to create a T-shirt with his face on it, Hollywood was a natural choice.
"It wasn't like a prominent nickname people called me all the time," Bradley said. "But I had people here and there call me it, certain coaches. Just the way it sounded, the ring of it, I've always enjoyed it and always kind of embraced it a little bit."

Bradley's exuberant demeanor is a perfect match for Players Weekend, which allows Major League players to display aspects of their personalities that fans don't normally see.
"I joke around a lot; there's a fine line between cockiness and confidence, and arrogance and competitiveness, and I think I walk the tightrope on that," Bradley said. "It's kind of my personality and who I am, and sometimes I do things a little more Hollywood than other people.

Chris Iannetta, who went with "C.I." for the weekend, owned a nickname that was a bit more creative during his six-year stint with the Rockies.
"When I was with the Rockies, they would call me Sponge," Iannetta said. "Brad Hawpe started calling me Spongebob because I was, like 4 feet wide and 4 feet tall. Nobody calls me that here, so it would have been kind of out of left field."
