Arenado goes deep to extend hit streak to 25

DENVER -- Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado arrived loudly Monday night, blasting a two-run homer in the second inning off Rangers starter Martin Perez to run his hit streak to 25 games in the Rockies' 8-2 win against the Rangers.

Arenado's streak is two games fewer than the club record of 27 games, set last year by Michael Cuddyer.

Arenado is now hitting .353 (35-for-99) with four home runs, eight doubles, 16 RBIs and 15 runs scored during his streak.

The homer gave the Rockies a 2-0 lead.
