Review overturns foul ball call in eighth

PHOENIX -- D-backs manager Kirk Gibson asked for and won a challenge in the eighth inning of Saturday night's game against the Reds.

With a runner on first, Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto threw a pitch that hit A.J. Pollock on the right hand. Home plate umpire Kerwin Danley ruled the play a foul ball.

While a trainer looked at Pollock's hand, the umpires reviewed the call. The play was overturned and ruled a hit-by-pitch.

Pollock left the game and was replaced at first by Nick Evans.

The D-backs have challenged nine calls this season and have had three overturned.
