A's acquire Minor League righty Cochran-Gill

Club sends right-handed reliever Scribner to Mariners

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The A's parted with Evan Scribner on Tuesday, sending the right-handed reliever to Seattle for Minor League righty Trey Cochran-Gill.

Scribner, originally selected off waivers from the Padres in October 2011, was a non-tender candidate after finishing the season on the disabled list with a torn lat muscle. He got off to a great start, posting a 2.01 ERA over his first 27 outings, but compiled a 6.91 ERA over his final 27 appearances and allowed 14 home runs overall. He's out of options.

Cochran-Gill, 22, went 6-5 with a 4.18 ERA and six saves in 45 games at three levels in the Mariners' organization last season. Opponents hit .255 against him in 75 1/3 innings.

The right-hander was selected by Seattle in the 17th round of the 2014 Draft and hasn't allowed a home run in 111 2/3 professional innings.
