A's Agree to Terms with Three Players from First-Year Player Draft

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's agreed to terms with three more players from the First-Year Player Draft, the club announced today. The players include right-handed pitcher Bobby Wahl (5th round, Ole Miss), right-handed pitcher Dustin Driver (7th round, Wenatchee High School) and shortstop Edwin Diaz (15th round Maestro Ladi High School).

Wahl was 10-0 with a 2.03 ERA and .197 opponents batting average in 16 starts for Ole Miss. He earned third team Louisville Slugger All-America honors and was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award. In three seasons with the Rebels, he went 17-6 with a 2.62 ERA in 51 games, 34 starts.

Driver was 6-2 with a 1.09 ERA in 12 games, nine starts, and struck out 71 in 51.1 innings for Wenatchee High School.

The A's have now signed or agreed to terms with 31 of their 42 picks from the draft, including 14 of the first 15.
