Burns back in action; Vogt could return soon

HOUSTON -- Finally free of the tightness in his right hamstring, Billy Burns returned to action in Friday's 4-3 series-opening win over the Astros.

Burns, who hadn't played in the first seven games of the current 10-game road trip, went through his full complement of pregame work before pinch-hitting for Max Muncy in the seventh inning. He lined out in that at-bat but poked a single in the eighth to end Houston reliever Pat Neshek's evening.

Meanwhile, catcher Stephen Vogt, who sustained a groin injury behind the plate on Sept. 5, went through a full pregame workout on Friday for the first time since his injury.

Vogt took batting practice on Tuesday but didn't participate in pregame field work.
