Reddick has home run overturned, awarded double

MINNEAPOLIS -- A's outfielder Josh Reddick lost what would have been his 11th home run of the season when umpires overturned a call in the fifth inning of Wednesday night's game against the Twins at Target Field.

In his first plate appearance since coming off the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, Reddick drove a Cole DeVries pitch deep to right that first-base umpire Bill Miller initially ruled a home run.

However, an official review showed the ball struck high off the right-field wall -- not beyond it -- before caroming back to the field. Reddick was credited with a double.

The review was the first this year and 15th in Target Field's four-year history. It was the sixth time a call has been overturned.
