Matt McBride, 30, signed a Minor League deal with the A's during the offseason.

The A's on Wednesday selected the contract of catcher/outfielder Matt McBride from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-hander Andrew Triggs to Nashville.
The club also transferred left-hander Felix Doubront (UCL surgery) to the 60-day disabled list to make room for McBride on the 40-man roster.
McBride, 30, hit .188 in 11 games for Nashville after signing a Minor League deal with the A's during the offseason. He is a .199 career Major League hitter in 72 games over parts of three seasons with the Rockies.
Triggs retired the side in order Monday in his Major League debut. He is 2-1 with a 5.14 ERA in six Triple-A appearances.
