A's Place IF Elmore on DL; Outright OF Taylor and IF Nakajima

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's voided the March 29 option of Jake Elmore to Triple-A Sacramento and placed him on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 28 with a strained left quad, the club announced today. The A's also announced that outfielder Michael Taylor cleared waivers and was outrighted to Sacramento. Infielder Hiro Nakajima was also outrighted to Sacramento

Elmore was acquired from the Chicago White Sox for cash considerations Feb. 27, 2014 and hit .314 in 24 games this spring. He split the 2013 season between Houston and Triple-A Oklahoma City, batting .242 with two home runs and six RBI in 52 games with the Astros. Taylor batted .274 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 27 games with the A's during Spring Training before he was designated for assignment March 29. Nakajima was selected from Sacramento March 29 in order to designate Taylor for assignment, but was optioned to Sacramento the same day.
