The Oakland A's place infielder Jed Lowrie and right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn on the 15-day disabled list and recalled outfielder Brett Eibner and right-handed pitcher Andrew Triggs from Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today. Lowrie was placed on the DL retroactive to Thursday with a bunion on his left foot and Hahn goes on the DL with a strained right shoulder.
 
Eibner was acquired from the Kansas City Royals on July 30 in exchange for Billy Burns and was assigned to Nashville, where he went 4-for-13 (.308) with two doubles, a home run and two RBI in four games. He also batted .288 in 50 games with Triple-A Omaha and has a .289 batting average, 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 54 games overall at Triple-A. The 27-year-old right-handed hitter appeared in 37 games in center field, 12 in right field and three in left field in the minors. Eibner made his Major League debut with Kansas City this year and hit .231 with six doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI in 26 games. He made nine starts in left field and nine in right field.
 
Triggs joins the A's for the eighth time this year and has no decisions, a 5.40 ERA and .298 opponents batting average in 17 games over his previous seven stays. He logged a 2.57 ERA in four games during his last stint, which began on July 4 and was interrupted by a disabled list stay from July 18 to August 1 with a right shin contusion. Triggs was optioned to Nashville yesterday when Hahn went on the DL and five of his eight stints this year have began less than eight days following his previous option. He is 2-1 with two saves and a 2.95 ERA in 16 appearances with Nashville.
 
Lowrie is batting .263 with two home runs and 27 RBI in 87 games but was 1-for-20 over his last five contests. This is his second stint on the disabled list this year as he was out from May 10 to 24 with a right shin contusion. Hahn joined the A's for the fourth time this year yesterday to start at Los Angeles and is 2-4 with a 6.02 ERA in nine starts with Oakland. The A's have now used the disabled list 24 times, which is one short of the Oakland record of 25 set in 2008.
