A's recall of Canha from Nashville; designate of Decker for assignment

The Oakland A's recalled outfielder Mark Canha from Triple-A Nashville and designated outfielder Jaff Decker for assignment, the club announced today.

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's recalled outfielder Mark Canha from Triple-A Nashville and designated outfielder Jaff Decker for assignment, the club announced today.
Canha was on the A's Opening Day roster and went 2-for-19 (.105) in six games before he was optioned to Nashville April 15. He started four games in right field and one at designated hitter. The 28-year-old right-handed hitter batted .232 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 19 games with the Sounds following his option. He also drew 10 walks for a .345 on-base percentage. Canha appeared in 15 games in right field, three in center field and one at designated hitter with Nashville.
Decker was selected from Nashville when Canha was optioned on April 15 and hit .200 with a RBI in 17 games with Oakland. He hit .400 over his first five games but then went 4-for-35 (.114) over his final 12 contests. Decker batted .387 with a .472 on-base percentage in eight games with the Sounds.
