A's Recall RHP Cook from Nashville; Option RHP Graveman to Nashville

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's recalled right-handed pitcher Ryan Cook from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-handed pitcher Kendall Graveman to Nashville, the club announced today.

Cook was 2-0 with one save in five relief appearances with the Sounds and did not allow a run in 5.2 innings. He has yielded just one hit for a .059 opponents batting average. The 27-year-old right-hander posted a 16.88 ERA in five games with the A's this spring before he was optioned to Nashville March 24. Cook has pitched in 196 games for the A's over the previous three seasons and is 13-10 with a 2.77 ERA and 17 saves in 208 career appearances with the A's and Arizona.

Graveman began the season in the A's starting rotation and went 1-2 with an 8.27 ERA in four starts. He allowed a .343 opponents batting average and walked nine while striking out seven in 16.1 innings. Graveman tossed fewer than five innings in three of his four starts, including yesterday against Houston when he allowed six runs on nine hits in 4.2 innings for the loss.
