A's Reinstate 1B Freiman from Disabled List; Option him to Nashville

The Oakland A's have reinstated first baseman Nate Freiman from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville, the team announced today.

Freiman began the season on the disabled list with a strained lumbar muscle. He began a rehab assignment with Nashville on Monday and is batting .071 with no home runs and one RBI in four games with the Sounds. Freiman spent most of last season at Triple-A Sacramento where he batted .284 with 15 home runs and 74 RBI in 80 games. He also hit .218 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 36 games over three stints with Oakland.
