A's reinstate Cook from the DL; option Scribner to Triple-A Sacramento
OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's reinstated right-handed pitcher Ryan Cook from the 15-day disabled list and optioned right-handed pitcher Evan Scribner to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.
Cook was placed on the DL March 29 retroactive to March 21 with right shoulder tendinitis. He had a two-game rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton on Thursday and Saturday, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in 1.2 innings. Cook did not appear in a Major League game this spring.
Scribner was on the A's Opening Day roster and did not allow a base runner in two appearances, retiring all four batters he faced in 1.1 innings. He compiled a 5.25 ERA and .286 opponents batting average in nine games during the spring.
