A's Reinstate LHP Pomeranz from DL; Option Him to Triple-A Sacramento
The Oakland Athletics have reinstated left-handed pitcher Drew Pomeranz from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento, the team announced today.
Pomeranz was 5-4 with a 2.91 ERA and .225 opponents batting average in 17 games, including eight starts, with the A's. He began the season in the bullpen, going 1-1 with a 1.98 ERA in nine relief appearances. Pomeranz moved into the starting rotation May 7 and was 4-3 with a 3.21 ERA in eight starts. Pomeranz was placed on the DL June 17 with a fractured right hand. He began a rehab assignment was Sacramento last night and allowed one run in 4.0 innings against Reno.
