Reddick reinjures wrist, may be headed back to DL

BALTIMORE -- Oakland right fielder Josh Reddick reinjured his right wrist while batting in the sixth inning of Sunday's 10-3 loss to the Orioles and had to leave the game.

He will be evaluated by team doctors and the A's could make a decision Monday on whether to put him on the disabled list. Reddick said after the game it was "50-50" on whether he would have to go on the DL.

Reddick was injured Wednesday against Seattle diving for a ball. An MRI did not reveal any structural damage and Reddick was able to take batting practice before Friday's game against Baltimore without any major issues.

He was back in the lineup for the next two games before aggravating the injury Sunday. He spent four weeks on the disabled list for spraining that same wrist earlier in the season.

"I'm not going to be stupid about it again," Reddick said. "We'll see where we are tomorrow, reevaluate and go from there."

Oakland manager Bob Melvin has not ruled out the possibility of bringing in a replacement for Reddick, but he was also prepared to go with a short bench.

"We'll probably have a better indication tomorrow," Melvin said. "It's tough to make a complete diagnosis on the day he injures it. We'll see how he feels tomorrow."
