A's to honor "Big Three" prior to Sunday's game

Barry Zito, Tim Hudson, and Mark Mulder to be recognized in on-field ceremony

OAKLAND - The Oakland A's will honor the careers of the famed "Big Three" pitching trio-Barry Zito, Tim Hudson, and Mark Mulder-prior to the A's vs. Giants game on Sunday, Sept. 27.

The ceremony will begin approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled 1:05 p.m. start time, and will include a video tribute and a special presentation from A's Special Assistant to the General Manager Grady Fuson, who was the A's scouting director when the three pitchers were drafted in the late 1990s.

In addition, Zito, Hudson and Mulder will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitches as a group prior to Sunday's game.

The pre-game ceremony will happen a day after Zito and Hudson square off against each other at Saturday's 1:05 p.m. matinee at the O.co Coliseum. It will be Zito's first start for the A's since Game 1 of the 2006 American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers, and one of the last starts of Hudson's career.

Sunday's game is the A's final home game of the 2015 campaign, and limited tickets are still available at athletics.com/tickets.
