The Oakland Athletics will return home to the Oakland Coliseum this Friday, May 5 to host a six-game homestand against the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels.
 
To pay homage to the late A's broadcaster Bill King, the team will unveil a Holy Toledo sign in center field before this Friday's game. The sign will light up during big A's plays. The A's will also begin offering a peanut-controlled zone in Loge 66 for every game starting this homestand. No peanuts will be allowed in the designated seating area. The homestand will also feature "510 Day" on May 10 as a tribute to Oakland, a Bob Melvin bobblehead giveaway, presented by Comerica Bank, on May 6 and a Sean Manaea LED watch promotion, presented by Black Bear Diner, on May 7.

CHEVROLET COACHES CLINIC: Each season, the A's coaches host hundreds of aspiring youth baseball players in a series of Chevrolet Coaches Clinics on the field before a game. Children participate in pitching, throwing, fielding, catching, base running, and hitting workshops to fine-tune their skills. Following the clinic, participants get A's ticket vouchers and coaches' autographs, courtesy of Chevrolet and the Bay Area Chevrolet dealer group.
 
A's AMIGOS: The A's Amigos program gives our community's bilingual Spanish speaking children from nonprofit organizations the opportunity to interact with bilingual A's players. Participants are able to learn about the value of sportsmanship and hard work from their role models. In addition to the pregame chat, each child receives a game ticket and an A's cap. A's Amigos is driven by Chevrolet.

This event is open to all Little Leagues, youth baseball and softball leagues, as well as coaches, families and friends. The Little League Festival runs from 9 - 10:30 a.m. in B Lot, followed by the on-field parade at 10:45 a.m.
 
TAKE THE FIELD WITH THE A's: The Take the Field with the A's program gives youth baseball and softball teams the chance to live out their Major League dreams. As part of this program, youth players from a local baseball or softball team join Oakland A's players on the field during the National Anthem. The Minor A's B team of Mt. Eden Little League will distribute sunscreen to the A's players on behalf of Sutter Health's Fitness Sluggers' program, to help remind fans of the importance to "Play Sun Smart."

SCHOOL OF IMAGINATION VISIT: Stephen Vogt will visit with students at Dublin's School of Imagination from 10:30 a.m. - noon. Vogt makes regular visits to the school throughout the season. The program is supported by Azusa Pacific University, Vogt's alma mater.
 
YOUTH SPORTS NATION'S "PLAY BALL" TOUR SCHOOL VISIT: The A's will visit with students at Allendale Elementary School from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. as part of the Youth Sports Nation's "Play Ball" Tour. An A's player will join Terry T. Butler, aka Mr. Community, for a presentation that combines music, sports and community to celebrate the game of baseball. The program will also include Youth Sports Nation's three pledges: get an education, love my parents and respect my elders.
 
CHEVY FREE PARKING TUESDAY: To continually provide value to A's fans, Free Parking Tuesdays is back for most Tuesday home games during the 2017 season. All fans park for free on these days.

510 DAY: To build upon the A's commitment to Oakland, the team will host "510 Day" to recognize individuals and organizations who are making a difference in the community. The Oakland A's Community Fund will donate $10,000 each on May 10 (5/10) to five Oakland-based nonprofit organizations: the East Oakland Youth Development Center, Men of Valor Academy, Oakland Public Education Fund, the Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation and Rebuilding Together - Oakland.
 
FOOD BANK WEDNESDAYS: On select Wednesdays throughout the season, volunteers will be on-site to help collect cans of food and monetary donations before the game to benefit the Alameda County Food Bank. With every five cans donated or $20 contribution, fans will receive two vouchers that are redeemable for a Plaza Level ticket at 50% off for a 2017 A's game. Food Bank Wednesdays is presented by Lagunitas.
