A's Trade RHP Ryan Cook to Boston for a PTBNL or Cash

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's traded right-handed pitcher Ryan Cook to the Boston Red Sox for a player to be named later or cash considerations, the club announced today. Cook was on the roster of the A's Triple-A affiliate in Nashville.

Cook has spent most of the 2015 season at Nashville where he was 4-1 with eight saves and a 4.05 ERA in 30 relief appearances. He yielded a .258 opponents batting average and allowed 11-of-20 (55.0%) inherited runners to score. Cook also appeared in four games with Oakland from April 26 to May 2 and had two losses and a 10.38 ERA. He was acquired by the A's from Arizona following the 2011 season and was an All-Star in 2012 when he logged a 2.09 ERA and 14 saves in 71 games.
