Astros announce 2015 Spring Training schedule

Includes 14 home games in Florida; Two exhibition games vs. AL Champion KC at MMP

The Houston Astros unveiled their complete 2015 Spring Training schedule today, which includes 14 games at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Fla. The schedule also includes two exhibition games at Minute Maid Park against the defending American League Champion Kansas City Royals.

The Astros will play a total of 30 games this spring, including 27 games in the Grapefruit League. Spring contests open at home in Kissimmee on Thursday, March 5 in a matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies. That matchup will be one of two against the Phillies, who will also host the Astros in Clearwater, Fla., on March 25.

Five of the Astros 14 games in Kissimmee will fall on weekends, including matchups with the New York Yankees (March 7 and 29), the Atlanta Braves (March 8), the Washington Nationals (March 15) and the Pittsburgh Pirates (March 22). The Astros schedule also features weekday home games against the St. Louis Cardinals (March 10), the Detroit Tigers (March 12 and April 1), the Miami Marlins (March 27) and the Toronto Blue Jays (March 30).

The Astros will play two night games in Kissimmee this spring on Friday, March 27 vs. the Marlins and on Monday, March 30 vs. the Blue Jays. Both games will begin at 6:05 p.m. ET. All other home games are scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET start times.

ASTROS TO HOST AL CHAMPION KANSAS CITY ROYALS AT MINUTE MAID PARK

Following Grapefruit League play, the Astros will return home to Minute Maid Park where they will host the defending American League Champion Kansas City Royals for two games on Friday and Saturday, April 3-4. Friday's game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. CT start, while Saturday's matchup will start at 1:05 p.m. CT.
