HOUSTON -- Infielder Alex Bregman and right-handed pitcher Brady Rodgers were named the Astros' Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, on Monday. The players were set to be recognized in a pregame ceremony prior to Monday's game against Seattle.
Bregman, 22, hit .306 with 22 doubles, 20 homers, 61 RBIs and a .986 OPS in 80 games between Triple-A Fresno and Double-A Corpus Christi before making his Major League debut with the Astros in July. A Double-A Texas League Midseason and Postseason All-Star, Bregman was named MLBPipeline.com Hitter of the Year.
The second overall pick in the 2015 Draft out of LSU, Bregman started at third base for the U.S. Team in the 2016 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game and fell a home run shy of the cycle in a 3-for-5 performance. Bregman was also named the ESPN.com Prospect of the Year and the USA TODAY Minor League Player of the Year.

Rodgers, 26, was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year after going 12-4 with a 2.86 ERA with two complete games and one shutout in 22 starts with Fresno. A third-round pick by the Astros in 2012, Rodgers led all PCL pitchers in ERA, while ranking second in walks per nine innings (1.57), second in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.04), fourth in WHIP (1.15) and tied for fourth in wins.
A Midseason and Postseason PCL All-Star, Rodgers was the starting pitcher for the PCL at the Triple-A All-Star Game. He made his Major League debut with Houston in September, pitching out of the Astros' bullpen.
