HOUSTON -- With rookie right-hander Chris Devenski having thrown five innings in relief in a three-day span, the Astros made a roster move after Sunday night's 12-inning loss to the Red Sox to add some pitching by recalling Michael Feliz from Triple-A Fresno and optioning outfielder Jake Marisnick to Triple-A.
Astros manager A.J. Hinch said the move wasn't an indictment on Marisnick, who has appeared in only 12 games and was 1-for-10. He said because the club has carried an extra outfielder and needed pitching, Marisnick was the odd man out.
"Marisnick doesn't deserve to go down, by any means," he said. "He hasn't had the opportunity here, but he has options and we have one extra outfielder. Unfortunately, he takes the fall for it."

Feliz made the Astros' Opening Day roster as a long reliever, but was sent down after one outing. He threw 4 1/3 innings in relief in the second game of the year, April 6 at Yankee Stadium, after starter Collin McHugh lasted one-third of an inning.
The Astros sent him to Fresno because they needed a fresh arm and called up Devenski, who's been terrific. Devenski threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings on Sunday and now has 13 2/3 scoreless innings under his belt this year, allowing one hit and one walk.
Feliz appeared in two games at Fresno and was 1-0 with a 9.72 ERA and seven walks and seven strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings.
