HOUSTON -- With a 435-foot dart off the batter's eye in center field in the sixth inning, Carlos Correa had blasted his second home run in Thursday's 6-1 win vs. the A's at Minute Maid Park for his first multi-homer game this season.
That shot off the batter's eye was Correa's second career long ball he's bounced off the ivy in center field, he said. When it cracked off Correa's bat, he had no doubts about it leaving the ballpark.
"When I hit it, I knew it was gone," he said. "I was able to put a good swing on it. I knew it was gone off the bat."

"That was pretty impressive," Astros starting pitcher Brad Peacock said. "I think it almost cleared over that green wall out there."
According to Statcast™, Correa's second home run was his fourth longest this season, and at 106.7 mph, it was his third-hardest-hit long ball. Adding to a two-run 391-footer in the fourth inning, Correa notched his fourth career multi-homer game. His last came on April 6, 2016.

From June 14-28, Correa had hit a total of two home runs. Then in back-to-back plate appearances in Thursday's series finale, Correa smashed dingers, tying his career high with four RBIs in the game.
"It's always good to hit a home run, but it's even better to hit two," Correa said.
Correa, who led all American League shortstops in All-Star votes in Monday's ballot update, has 16 home runs this season and 53 RBIs, both the most among AL shortstops.
In his past 15 games, Correa has five home runs and 14 runs scored. Correa has reached base safely in a career-long 17 consecutive games, dating back to June 10.
"He's always in rhythm," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "That opposite-field home run today was only topped today by the top of the batting eye. We haven't seen but two or three balls go up there this season. His strength was on display today. His at-bats are always must-watch."
