The Astros, who entered Friday with the best record in the Major Leagues at 58-28, now have a franchise-record six All-Stars headed to Miami.

"Excited and a little shocked," Devenski said after hearing the news. "Just happy, filled up with some joy. It's something I worked hard for and I'm just thankful for the opportunity."
The Astros' six selections are tied for the most in the Majors with the Dodgers.
"It's indicative of a special season that we've been able to have so far," said Astros manager A.J. Hinch. "What is it, 86 games in, and we're being recognized in a lot of different ways to prove that. You make statements by winning divisions, getting to the playoffs and chasing championships, but the midseason recognition for some of our players is pretty cool."
Devenski, 26, joins Houston second baseman , shortstop , outfielder and starting pitchers and as All-Stars. Keuchel, however, will not play because of injury.

Since Devenski debuted in 2016, he's been among the league's most dominant pitchers, ranking second in the Majors in ERA (2.14) and WHIP (0.87), behind only (1.92 ERA, 0.80 WHIP).
"I think he's pitched in as many roles as imaginable," Hinch said of his dependable reliever. "I think people confuse the middle of the game with middle relief. That's not the case. He's pitching in as high-leverage situations as anyone in the league."

Devenski entered Friday leading all big league relievers with 72 strikeouts and 51 2/3 innings, and he was tied for the most wins by a reliever with six. He's still pulling together plans for the All-Star break, but he hopes to bring his parents, sister, a close friend and offseason pitching coach Dominic Johnson to Miami.
The Astros' previous record for most All-Stars in a season was five in 1994, when Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Ken Caminiti, Doug Drabek and John Hudek were named as National League All-Stars.
