Astros Foundation to Hold First Picnic in the Park with 2013 Astros Players

Charitable Fundraiser to Take Place in Outfield of Minute Maid Park After Game

HOUSTON, TX - On Sunday, June 16, the entire 2013 Astros roster of players will participate in Houston's first Picnic in the Park, a charitable fundraiser benefiting The Astros Foundation and its baseball programs for at-risk youth. In addition to the players, Owner and Chairman Jim Crane, General Manager Jeff Luhnow and Manager Bo Porter will be in attendance.

The Picnic will begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the Astros' 1:10pm contest against the Chicago White Sox on Father's Day. Attendees will enjoy an hour-long autograph session with the players, a cookout picnic in the outfield of Minute Maid Park, children's activities, musical entertainment and an auction. Each Picnic patron will also receive a picnic blanket.

Tickets to Picnic in the Park are separate from game tickets. Fans 15 years of age and older require a $100 adult Picnic ticket. Fans 6-14 years of age require a $25 child's Picnic ticket and must be accompanied by a Picnic-ticketed adult. Children five years of age or younger are admitted free of charge with a Picnic-ticketed adult.

Also attending Picnic in the Park as guests of the Astros are children and teens from the Astros Urban Youth Academy. The UYA provides free baseball and softball instruction, life skills training and academic support to Houston youth, with a focus on serving inner city and at-risk children and teens.

Due to the need to protect Minute Maid Park's playing field in season, only a limited number of tickets to the 2013 Picnic in the Park will be sold. As this is a charitable event, a portion of the Picnic ticket is tax-deductible.

Picnic in the Park is sponsored by Capitol One, TJX, ARAMARK/Houston Astros Hospitality Group, CenterPoint Energy, Amerisource, AT&T, Automated Voice and Data Solutions, 47 Brand Apparel, Corrosion Resistant Alloys, Sara and Bill Morgan and the Crane Foundation.
