HOUSTON -- Astros designated hitter George Springer became the answer to a trivia question Wednesday when he clubbed the 1,500th home run hit by the Astros at Minute Maid Park, covering the regular season and postseason.
Springer homered to left field in the fourth inning of Wednesday's 5-3, 16-inning win over the Indians off Danny Salazar.
Coincidentally, Springer hit the 1,400th homer at Minute Maid Park on June 15, 2015.

"It's cool, I guess," Springer said of milestone homer. "That's obviously a pretty historic franchise that have had some historic guys come through. I was just happy for us to get the win today, and I guess I'll take it."
Lance Berkman, whose 155 homers at Minute Maid Park are a record for the venue, hit the 1,000th Astros homer at the ballpark on May 22, 2010. Jose Vizcaino clobbered the 500th homer on Sept. 3, 2004, and Richard Hidalgo hit the first Astros homer at then-Enron Field on April 7, 2000.
After Berkman's 155 homers, Jeff Bagwell (108) and Craig Biggio (80) round out the top three home run hitters at Minute Maid Park. Jason Castro (37) is the Astros' active leader in Minute Maid Park home runs, which puts him ninth on the all-time list.
