Presidents' Day message one of optimism for Astros

HOUSTON -- As the Astros get ready for what has the potential to be one of their best seasons in recent memory, team president of business operations Reid Ryan has several reasons to be more optimistic, especially now that the team's television deal has been worked out.

Here are three messages Ryan had for Astros fans in 2015:

• The Astros are an exciting team on the rise. The momentum is building.

• Many pieces have begun to fall into place, such as the television deal, developing popular stars like Jose Altuve, the arrival of George Springer. The team perception has improved.

• The Astros will be recognizing a pair of significant milestones this year. The team will honor long time second baseman Craig Biggio on his impending Hall of Fame induction, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Astros' only World Series team (2005).
