Astros set 2014 Opening Day roster

Eight players make debut on Opening Day roster

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros have set their 2014 Opening Day 25-man roster, General Manager Jeff Luhnow announced today. In order to set the active roster at 25, the team had to make three transactions today.

Houston officially placed right-handed pitchers Jesse Crain, Alex White and Asher Wojciechowski on the 15-day Disabled List. All three DL stints are backdated to March 21.

After today's transactions, the Astros 40-man roster remains full.

EIGHT PLAYERS TO MAKE DEBUT ON ACTIVE OPENING DAY ROSTER

Eight Astros players will make their debut on an active Opening Day roster on Tuesday, a list that includes left-handed pitcher Kevin Chapman, right-handed pitcher Jarred Cosart, outfielder Robbie Grossman, outfielder L.J. Hoes, outfielder Marc Krauss, left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel, left-handed pitcher Brett Oberholtzer and shortstop Jonathan Villar.
