Astros set to open Spring Training vs. Braves

HOUSTON -- The Astros will open their 2014 Spring Training schedule when they travel a few miles down the road to face the Braves on Feb. 28 at Champion Stadium at the Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World.

Houston opens its 30th season at Osceola County Stadium when it hosts Atlanta on March 2 in Kissimmee, Fla. The Astros will play 27 games in Florida, including 13 games at Osceola County Stadium. They'll meet the Braves four times.

Seven of the Astros' 13 games in Kissimmee are on weekends, including matchups with the Yankees (March 8), the Blue Jays (March 9), the Cardinals (March 14, 22), the Nationals (March 16) and the Marlins (March 21).

The Astros' schedule also features weekday home games against the Tigers (March 5), the Mets (March 6, 26), the Phillies (March 20), the Nationals (March 12) and the Braves (March 17). Home games will begin at 12:05 p.m. CT.

Following Grapefruit League action, the Astros will travel to San Antonio for two games against the Rangers in San Antonio's Alamodome as part of the H-E-B Big League Weekend, March 28-29. The March 29 game will be a split-squad matchup, with half the team in Houston facing the Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz of the Mexican Baseball League for the first of two exhibition games at Minute Maid Park.

Information on purchasing Astros Spring Training tickets in Kissimmee and at Minute Maid Park will be released in the upcoming weeks.
