NEW YORK -- Yuli Gurriel gave the Astros a 3-0 lead with a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series on Tuesday.
The Astros were gifted two walks in the inning, which sandwiched a catcher's interference, setting up Gurriel's line drive down the left-field line as he improved to 12-for-29 at the plate this postseason. Houston lost, 6-4, and the ALCS presented by Camping World is tied at two games apiece.
The inning began with Yankees starter Sonny Gray on the mound, the right-hander having limited the Astros to one hit his first two times through the order. Leadoff man George Springer drew a walk, and Josh Reddick soon joined him on the basepaths when Yanks backstop Austin Romine was charged with catcher's interference.

It marked the eighth time this year Reddick has reached first base on catcher's interference, more than any other player. With Jose Altuve stepping to the plate, Yankees manager Joe Girardi stuck with Gray, but for only one pitch. Right-hander Player Page for David Robertson inherited a 1-0 count and walked Altuve, loading the bases for Carlos Correa.

Correa struck out, but Gurriel delivered the clutch hit the Astros have been seeking. To that point, Houston was 1-for-12 with the bases loaded this postseason.
"I thought we had the game, but our bullpen had been pitching well and doing the job, so I thought those three runs were enough for us to get a win," said Gurriel.
